Kim Boekbinder is The Impossible Girl; a performer, composer, musician, and visual artist who defies genre. She has travelled the world, stealing hearts and changing paradigms with her indelible live performance and her unforgettable music.

Whether backed by a band or alone on stage, the power of her performance is palpable, its strength being its outright fearlessness, not only to be big, but also to be very small, to mirror the loves, and hopes, and fears of the audience; a relentless earnestness that disarms and works its magic until you forget where you are for just long enough to be caught in the moment that The Impossible Girl brings.

Her voice is one of heartbreaking honesty and stunning clarity. There is no auto-tuning at work here. What you hear is what you get - the transcendent sound of a human voice.

Kim's debut solo album, The Impossible Girl, was funded by a successful pre-order campaign that raised $20,000, allowing Kim to record with legendary Boston Producer, Sean Slade (Radiohead, Dresden Dolls,) and engineer Benny Grotto (voted Boston's Producer of the Year 2010.) The power of her dedicated fan base is making her first album one of the great success stories of the new music paradigm.

Released on December 15th, 2010, The Impossible Girl has already garnered favorable reviews from fans including: Amanda Palmer, Neil Gaiman, Rosanne Cash, and more.

The 18 song album cannot be categorized in one genre. Each song is a world of its own, and as a collection the songs are held together by the voice of an artist who pushes beyond the boundaries of classification to carve out a new space in the musical world.

The CD features cover art by alternative art star, Travis Louie www.travislouie.com, and each track of the digital release includes an original piece of art from artists around the world such as, Molly Crabapple, Teetering Bulb, Fred Harper, and more.

Cinematic and beautiful music videos accompany the album. Working with film makers in New York City, and Melbourne, Australia Kim has built a collection of catchy clips that are gaining new fans across the internet. (Youtube channel)

Pushing for a fully interactive and integrated experience with art The Impossible Girl even has her own line of make up (by indie make up darlings, Sweet Libertine.) Future projects include dedicated music players, costumes matching her stage wear, a comic book, and branded instruments.

While planning tours in the US and Europe for Spring and Summer 2011, the next album is already in the planning stages. The Impossible Girl never stops.
